The owner wanted to incorporate interior design features from India. They traveled to India and purchased many beautiful wood-carved materials. These materials were shipped over in a container boat and then transported to Monroe. The interior of the home evokes the feeling of an open center court just like in Indian homes. The home also has wide-open views of Bayou DeSiard from the Master Bedroom Suite.

Farr Residence
Napoli Residence
This house once served as the Monroe Country Club. The back screen porch on the home was changed into a sunroom that incorporated custom-designed glass doors along the whole distance of the back wall. Also added was a new side porch entrance to the home. Many features of the original house were left such as the front entrance and secret rooms. Dr. Napoli himself provided many design ideas which Joe Holyfield’s design staff incorporated into the home.
ULM Bon Aire Residence
Located on picturesque Bayou DeSiard, Bon Aire serves as the home for the ULM president and family, but its role in the life of the university goes well beyond that of a residence. This 6,893 square-foot Country Acadian-style, one and one-half story home provides an elegant setting for receptions, dinners, and other events. These events center on gatherings for faculty, students, or alumni, recognition of donors, and volunteer appreciation. At a glance, visitors will notice an eye-catching array of live oaks, red maples, cypress, vitex trees, sweet olives, iris, indigo, and azaleas long before they enter the foyer. Once inside, guests may take in the hand-crafted curving staircase and lovely furnishings. On the ground floor, many features will capture attention, from the Country French décor to the subtle rural nature theme present in elements from the artwork (much of it ULM students’ work) to the tapestry attached to the curve of the stair wall.
